Qingdao Huadong Winery Co., Ltd.

Founded in 1985, Qingdao Huadong Winery Co., Ltd is the first joint venture in China that produces high quality dry red and dry white wines in accordance with international O. I. V standard. The founder of Qingdao Huadong Winery Co., Ltd, Mr Michael Parry established the first Europe-styled vineyard in China --- Chateau Huadong-Parry after three years thorough investigation.

Chateau Huadong-Parry locates in the magnificent Nine-Dragon Hill of Mt. Laoshan and covers more than 1, 000 Mu (about 66.7 hektares)in area. There are more than 42, 000 vines consisting of 13 classic European varieties, including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc to name a few. And additional 10, 000 Mu(about 666.7 hektares) of vineyards have been established in areas such as Dazeshan and Pingdu by Huadong to ensure a good supply of quality grapes. Huadong introduces the 'Two Wire Vertical Trellising' system which conforms to Qingdao's natural growing condition. The harmonious layout guarantees high yield and full-bodied taste, which enhances Huadong's enviable reputation.

Hudong Winery adopts the most advanced processing technology, modern equipment and strict quality management system in order to ensure excellent quality. Every year Huadong not only employs overseas winemaking consultants, from Australia, France, America and New Zealand to assist vintage production, but also sends Chinese winemakers and viticulturalists from Huadong aboard to learn the latest techniques in their respective fields. All these factors keep Huadong ahead and excel the other competitors.

Huadong Wine has attracted numerous consumers for its high quality since its first appearance on market. The Huadong Chardonnay won Silver Medal at Vinexpo in Bordeaux, France in 1987 and a Gold Medal at Brussels' Monde Selection in 1989. Additionally the winery has consistently won awards at international wine contests and been entered in the records of the World Wine Encyclopedia. In 1996, the winery earned 'the Green Food' certificate first in the industry, and the ISO14001: 1996 certificates in 2002. Huadong is also regarded as the provincial and municipal leader in it's famous wine products.
