Company Overview
I CARE is an international, Christian, humanitarian and non-profit organization committed to helping the poor and needy develop and improve their physical, mental, emotional and moral conditions.

To fulfil our vision, we work through a network of willing volunteers and organizations worldwide, who have a compassion for the poor and needy. We work in partnership with existing local governing bodies to help the local people in needy areas. Through various programmes and projects which involve direct participation by the people in need, we seek to develop and enable individuals and communities to enhance their quality of life.

Broadly speaking, our work can be classified into two main categories, as follows:

1. Orphanage and Welfare Work

I CARE organizes, on a regular basis, teams of voluntary workers to provide love and practical assistance in the orphanages. These teams provide medical consultation, educational and recreational activities for the children. Our weekend Youth Clubs and annual Summer Camps, for example, have brought both joy and learning to the children in some orphanages.

Funding by caring and willing individuals and organizations have made it possible for the hiring and training of local health workers in basic hygiene, healthcare and physiotherapy techniques in some homes. Sick and disabled children have also benefited from the provision of essential medical operations and equipment/aids.

Child and Education Sponsorships and Foster Care programmes have been set up for abandoned children. Many are now financially supported through I CARE by caring individuals from overseas. Vocational Skills Training coupled with Job Placement programmes have provided hope for a better future for young men and women, who would otherwise be lost among the many unemployed.

2. Community Development

We take a holistic approach towards community development that seeks not only to provide immediate relief to the needy communities but also to provide a model of self-help so that programmes and projects will be ongoing, transferable and reproducible.

Specialists and volunteers join together to impart their skills to willing individuals in these communities. These individuals in turn will be able to offer help to their own communities. In this way, over a period of time, the whole community will be built up to be self-sustaining.

Some of our projects include potato cultivation, building of VIP latrines, water tanks etc.
