Product Description

Super magnetic kit

Product Introduction

Welcome to the magnifificent world of magnets! The aim of the kit is to introduce to the creative minds of learners the magnitude of uses of magnets. Learners will discover about magnetic fields, forces of attraction and repulsion, how magnets are used in daily objects as well as other fascinating features of magnets.

Product Specification

1.The Super Magnet kit comprises all the tools a learner needs to start
exploring about magnets. The kit consists of:
ITEMS PCS ITEMS PCS
magnetic cars 2 bar magnets 2
magnetic bears 2 Iron power box 1
ring magnets 8 pencils 2
magnet balls 7 magnetic wands 2
bag of clips 1 maze board 1
compass 1 metal balls 7
plastic horseshoe magnets 2 cotton string 1
small metal horseshoe magnets 2

Product feature and application

ACTIVITY 1:
Purpose: To help learners discover which kind of objects are magnetic.
Let the learners test items like clips, pencils, metal balls, etc. ,make notes of their observations of which are magnetic and which are not.So we can know that magnets can attact magnetic or metal objects.

ACTIVITY 2:
Purpose: To help learners discover the attraction and repel nature of the magnets.
All kind of mangets have their own poles on the two ends, the blue part of the bar magnet and the horseshoe magnet we marked as "S", namely South pole ,and the red part we marked as"N", that is North pole.So what about the magnetic wands and the ring magnets? Can you find their N pole and S pole?

Two ends of the different poles will attarct each other while the same poles will repel each other.By this nature, we can find the N pole and S pole of magnetic wands and ring magnet easily.
1.clever bear
Put the bear on the smoothly desktop (the material of the desk shall be wood or plastic and the thickness of the desktop can not be more than 15mm ) .Take the magnetic wand under the desktop that close to the bear, and what will you find? If the wand's top surface has the same pole as the bear bottom, then the bear will go away from the wand. if the wand's top surface has the different pole as the bear bottom, then the bear will act like the obedient child and never go away by itself. Also, we can do this experiment like picture 5.It will looks like the wand always chase the bear but can never catch up with the bear.

  1. magnetic car
Put two cars on the smoothly desktop, and put one ring magnet each in the two cars, make sure that the ring magnet shall be the same colour ends towards each other(see picture 6),hold the cars and then release, you will find that two cars back up to the opposite direction.Take notes of the distance that the cars from each other when both of them stop.
Then we put two ring magnets like picture 7, and do the exercises like the above, compare the results to see the differences. What will you learn from this?

ACTIVITY 3:
Purpose:To help the learners discover the region where a magnetic force can be detected,we called it magnetic field.
  1. Using the bar magnet with the cotton string attached to it,then make the bar magnet move around freely, observe it when the bar magnet stops.Repeat the above exercises and remember to take notes to compare the results.By the help of the compass, you will find that whatever how many times we try to do this ,one end of the bar magnet will always be pointed to North pole while the other end always pointed to the South pole. That is becasue of the magnetic field exsits.
2.Let the learner take one plastic horseshoe magnet in their each hand, and let them attract each other. Then try to pull them away from each        other, you will have a feeling that how strong is the magnetic force.

3.Put the compass between two horseshoes of the magnet, observe the needle of the compass, and then rotate the magnet and keep observing the needle of the compass. What will you find?Does the compass changed the pointing direction while the magnet rotates?

ACTIVITY 4:
CAN THE FORCE BE STOPPED?
Purpose: For learners to discover that magnetic force can pass through objects and is also weakened when passing through objects.
Let the learners test their magnets first to see how many clips it can pick. Repeat twice more, recording results each time. The next step is to let the learners conduct the same experiment, this time putting an object- for example a piece of paper -
between the magnet and the clips. Let the learners perform the test thrice, recording their results each time. Were you surprised that the magnet was able to
attract even when there is an object between? Did you notice a decrease in the magnetic force? Did any object block the magnetic force? Why do you think the magnetic force been blocked?

ACTIVITY 5:
Purpose: To help learners discover the maglev and know how it been applied in our daily life.
Let the learners put four rings magnet though a pencil, make sure that all ring magnets shall be put as the same colour ends toward each other. What will you find?
Each ring magnet suspends by itself and not contact each other. You know maglev train? How it works? Can you have a prediction and then check your prediction with your parents or teachers?

ACTIVITY 6:
Purpose: To help learners discover the magnetic induction lines and the distribution way of the lines
First, we shake the iron powder box and let the iron powder evenly distributed in the  box. Then we put the bar magnet on the box, what will you find? We can see that the iron power aotumatically show us the lines which actullay are the distrbution lines of the magnet. And if you observe carefully, you will also know which part of the bar magnet has the strong magnetic force and which part has the weak force.

ACTIVITY 7: Maze game
Purpose: To help learners further discover the funny and magic of the magnetic world.
Just put the metal ball on the maze (the differnet colour metal balls will act like differnet animals), can you use the magnetic wands under the maze to lead these animals to their wonderful places?Just have a game with your friends and let us see ,whose animal can win the game.
