Blue silica gel can be used independently as a desiccant or in conjunction with Type A Silica Gel.

Application

Primarily used for moisture absorption and rust prevention in enclosed conditions for instruments, gauges, and equipment. The color change from blue to red visually indicates the relative humidity of the environment. When combined with ordinary silica gel or a drier, it helps assess moisture absorption levels and determine relative humidity. Widely utilized as a desiccant for precision instruments, leathers, shoes, clothes, foodstuffs, medicines, and household appliances.

Blue silica gel is ideal as a primary desiccant or blended with other desiccants for applications requiring visual control of moisture. Chemsize silica gel beads are saturated with a moisture-indicating solution, turning deep blue when dry and changing to purple and pink as they adsorb moisture.

Chemical Formula: SiO₂· nH₂O + CoCl₂

Also known as narrow pore silica gel, Chemsize features interconnecting pores with diameters of 20-30 nanometers, offering strong moisture affinity through physical adsorption and capillary condensation. Effective at temperatures up to 220°F, it is best utilized at room temperature (70-90°F) and high relative humidity (60-90% Rh).
