Wire mesh demisters are usually installed at the top of the tower. If a wire mesh demister is installed between the trays, it can not only ensure the mass transfer efficiency of the trays, but also reduce the spacing between the plates. It is particularly widely used in fields such as desulfurization, oil mist removal, and the removal of harmful industrial gases and odors.

BS-80	Provides low pressure drop at high velocity and general collection efficiency. Used for collecting lager particles.
BS-144	Mainly used in the field of petrochemical plants. Provides relatively low pressure drop and collection efficiency of up to 90~99%
BS-193	Most commonly used. Provides collection efficiency of up to 98~99% on 5~10 microns at velocity of 1~5m/sec.
BS-220	Used for collecting minute particles sized for 1 micron, Thicker is better in case of minute particles with low density (approximately 10g/m3)

Working principle

 

When the gas with mist rises at a certain speed and passes through the metal wire mesh mounted on the grid, due to the inertia of the mist rising, the mist collides with the fine wire and adheres to the surface of the fine wire. The mist on the surface of the filament further diffuses and the gravitational settling of the mist itself, causing the mist to form larger droplets that flow along the filament to its interweaving point. Due to the wettability of the filaments, the surface tension of the liquid, and the capillary action of the filaments, the droplets become larger and larger until their own gravity exceeds the combined buoyancy of the gas and the surface tension of the liquid, and they are separated and fall, flowing into downstream equipment of the container. As long as the operating conditions such as gas speed are selectedProperly selected, the gas passing through the wire mesh defoamer can achieve a defoaming efficiency of over 97%, achieving the goal of completely removing mist.
