Aluminum-magnesium carbon brick is a new variety developed in recent years, based on the aluminum-magnesium brick and magnesium carbon brick, and its production process is mostly like magnesium carbon brick. It is made of Al2O3, MgO and C as the main components, Containing Al2O3 of 60% ~ 69%, Mgo of 7% ~ 14%, C of 5% ~ 12%. Aluminum-magnesium carbon brick(Water glass bonded) use Level one or two bauxite clinker for refractory aggregate, Level one or special high-aluminum powder for refractory powder, and blended 8% to 13% the first and second grade metallurgical magnesia powder. Carbon material use electrode powder, earth-like graphite or flake graphite, the amount of 3% - 8%, use water glass solution (m = 2.4 ~ 3.0) as a binder, after forming treated in 200 ~ 250 ºC low temperature after forming, the brick is finished. The refractoriness of the Water glass combination aluminum - magnesium carbon brick is 1770 ° C, and the 4% load softening temperature is 1320 to 1340 ° C, which is caused by the addition of Na2O. If using high modulus water glass in which the Na2O is less, load softening temperature increased to 1410 ºC, refractoriness is 1790 ºC. This kind of refractory brick is widely used in the small and medium ladle because of its good performance and low price. The refractory brick is used in the cast steel ladle, and magnesium carbon brick is used in the slag line masonry, its life is 50 to 100 times.
