Pregelatinized Starch manufacturing process
1). Slurry mixing unit The qualified starch is poured into starch storage tank in which the starch slurry with DS 35% is made by mixing with water. Agitator is needed to reach the function.
2). Roller drying section This is the main working section. The suitable starch slurry is poured by pump on the surface of rollers. The rollers are made by special metal and heated by steam. Heating time and temperature as well as the clearance between rollers are adjustable. The starch will be pre-gelatinized by heating and formed as thin and brittle sheets then removed by screw conveyors.
3). Crushing section Different sizes of pre-gelatinized starch chips are sent to a rotary crusher via pneumatic system. In the crusher, the pre-gel starch is crushed into powder via strong milling and centrifugal force.
4). Dust removing and packing section The dust removing exhauster is installed after bag filter. When the pre-gel powder is sucked into dust remover, the powder is collected and discharged from the bottom and weighted then packed. The tail gas from outlet of exhauster is released to the air.
