Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Systems
Cape-Golden is the world leader in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. Cape-Golden Oxygen Generators and Oxygen Plants use at least two vessels filled with molecular sieve as adsorbers. As compressed air passes through one of the adsorbers, the molecular sieve adsorbs the nitrogen. This allows the remaining oxygen to pass through and exit the adsorber as a product gas. Before the adsorber becomes saturated with nitrogen, the inlet air flow switches to the second adsorber. The first adsorber is now regenerated by desorbing the nitrogen through depressurization and purging it with oxygen. The complete cycle is then repeated. Under normal operating conditions, the molecular sieve is completely regenerative and will last indefinitely.

The 2 Stages, Medical Oxygen Gas Plant for Cylinders Filling System Process
Air contains 21% oxygen, 78% nitrogen, 0.9% argon, and 0.1% other gases. Cape-Golden Dual Stage, Medical Oxygen Gas Plant for Cylinders Filling System separate oxygen from compressed air utilizing a two stage Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) process to generate up to 99% pure oxygen.
The first stage of the PSA process uses molecular sieve (a synthetic zeolite), which attracts (adsorbs) nitrogen from air at high pressure and releases (desorbs) it at low pressure to generate 95% pure oxygen.
The second stage of the high purity PSA process further purifies 95% oxygen to a level of up to 99% using a second type of molecular sieve (activated carbon sieve), which attracts (adsorbs) oxygen from the 95% oxygen stream at high pressure and releases it at low pressure.

Complete plants include a feed air compressor, refrigerated dryer or chiller, oxygen generator, oxygen compressor, and a cylinder filling rack. The oxygen compressor delivers oxygen at up to 2,200 psig (15,169 kPa or 151.6 barg) to a high pressure manifold capable of filling up to 10 cylinders at a time.
These Medical PSA Oxygen Gas Plant for Cylinders Filling System operate automatically and generate oxygen that meets the international standard. For special applications, an optional high purity module may be added to the plant, to increase oxygen concentration to 99% ±0.5%.
