Channel steel is a long strip of steel with a fluted section. It is a carbon structural steel for construction and machinery. The specifications of the channel steel are mainly expressed by the dimensions of height (h), leg width (b), waist thickness (d), etc., and the specifications of the domestic channel steel are from 5-40, that is, the corresponding height is 5-40cm.

At the same height, light channel steel has narrower legs, thinner waist and lighter weight than ordinary channel steel. No. 18-40 is a large channel steel, and No. 5-16 is a medium channel steel. The imported channel steel shall be marked with actual specifications, dimensions and relevant standards. The import and export orders of channel steel are generally based on the specifications required in use after determining the corresponding carbon bonded steel (or low alloy steel) steel number. The delivery length of channel steel is divided into two kinds: fixed length and double length, and the tolerance value is specified in the corresponding standard. 4. Cooling The rolled channel steel needs to be cooled. The purpose of cooling is to rapidly reduce the temperature of the channel steel, fix its internal structure, and improve its strength and hardness. Cooling is usually carried out by water cooling or air cooling.
5. Cutting the cooled channel steel needs to be cut to reach the required length. Cutting can be carried out by flame cutting, shearing or sawing, etc. After cutting, the incision needs to be trimmed to ensure the flatness and accuracy of the incision.
6. Surface treatment The cut channel steel needs to be surface treated to remove surface oxides and rust and improve its surface quality. The surface treatment can be done by sandblasting, pickling or galvanizing.
7. Check the quality of the channel steel after surface treatment. The contents of inspection include appearance quality, dimensional accuracy, chemical composition and mechanical properties. Only through the inspection qualified channel steel can be sold or used.

8. Packaging and transportation After the qualified channel steel has been inspected, it needs to be packaged and transported. Packaging is usually carried out in wooden cases, pallets or bundling to protect the surface of the channel steel from damage. During transportation, attention should be paid to prevent collision and extrusion to ensure the integrity of the channel steel.
