Product Description

1. Background

Malachite green is an organic compound that is used as a dyestuff and has emerged as a controversial agent in aquaculture. Fishes and shrimp contaminated by malachite green may cause health problems in human after being consumed. Strict MRLs have been established against malachite green in EU, US and Japan, etc.
This kit is a new product based on ELISA technology, which is fast (only 45min in one operation), easy, accurate and sensitive compared with common instrumental analysis, and so it can considerably minimize operation error and work intensity.
2. Test Principle
This ELISA kit is designed to detect malachite green based on the principle of "indirect-competitive" ELISA. The microtiter wells are coated with capture BSA-linked antigen. Malachite green in the sample competes with the antigen for binding to the limited number of antibody. After the addition of enzyme conjugate and TMB substrate, the signal is measured in an ELISA photometer. The absorption is inversely proportional to the malachite green concentration in the sample.
3. Applications
This kit can be used in quantitative and qualitative analysis of malachite green residue in animal tissue (fish and shrimp), water etc.
