Foreword
☆Calcination or calcining, refers to a thermal treatment process where inorganic, non-metallic solids (i.e., minerals,ceramic powders) are heated below the melting or fusion point for thermal decomposition, phase transition or forremoval of a volatile fraction, including chemically bonded water.
☆Typical process temperatures are between 800°C and 1300°C. Ceramic engineers define exact calcining process Parameters which may include tight thermal profiles for the heating and cooling phase with strict tolerances.
☆A classic example of the calcining process is the heating of crushed limestone to produce quick-lime, a critical ingredient in cements and concrete. This process was known as far back as the Roman Empire, and may be even older.
☆Generally, calcining is used to prepare raw materials, either alone or in mixtures, for further processing or for the recovery of base materials from the scrap portions of subsequent processes. Calcining is often a critical.

☆The rotary calcination kiln is generally composed of calciner barrel, heating , heat preservation , feeding and discharge control system.
The equipment can be divided into gas-burnt type calcination kiln and electric heating type calcination kiln according to the different heatsource used.
When the temperature of the calciner klin body is heated to the process requirements, the material to be calcined is sent into the calciner klin chamber by the feeding system.
The heating system adopts electrical heating radiation or burner heating. and maintains the working temperature of each area of the calciner klin by adjusting the electric heating power or adjusting the burner .
The calciner klin chamber has a certain tilt, so that the material is calcined while moving forward slowly during the slow rotation process .
The residence time of the material in the calciner klin chamber can maintain the working temperature of each area of the calciner klin by adjusting the electric heating power or the burner .

- Automatic temperature control, segmentation setting, over-temperature alarm, long kiln lining life, uniform wall temperature distributing in each zone, temperature control accuracy ≤ ± 5 °C.
- The gas combustion is sufficient, the heat transfer efficiency is high, the heat preservation performance is good, and the surface temperature rise of the equipment does not exceed 50 °C.
- The thermal efficiency of the burner is >99%, the single-pass thermal efficiency of the calciner klin is more than 41%, the flame of the burner is columnar or flat, straight and powerful.
- The combustion system exhaust NOx concentration is not higher than 100mg/Nm3.
Applicable Materials
Rotary kiln can be divided into cement kiln, metallurgical chemical kiln and lime kiln according to different processing materials.
It has been successfully applied to the roasting of molecular sieve catalysts and catalytic cracking catalysts, oil sands, fly ash, alumina, chrome ore, chrome ore powder, cement clinker, activated lime and light burnt dolomite.
