In the slurry pump bearing assembly, lubrication method of the bearing is roughly divided into grease lubrication and oil lubrication, and the choice of the way is related to the type, size and operating conditions of the bearing. In grease lubrication and oil lubrication, grease lubrication is the most used, about 80% of rolling bearings are using grease lubrication.

I The Characteristics of Grease Lubrication

A: The lubrication device is simple. If sealed bearings or non-sealed bearings that do not require grease are used, no additional lubrication is required (in contrast, oil lubrication systems require oil pumps, tubing, fuel tanks, etc.).

B: Grease is not easy to leak, bearing seal structure is relatively simple,

C: Easy maintenance of bearings.

D: The grease has a sealing effect to prevent external dust, moisture and other impurities from invading the bearing.

E: Easy to improve the cleanliness of the mechanical device.

II The Characteristics of Oil Lubrication

A: suitable for high-speed rotation

B: good high temperature stability, suitable for use at high temperatures.

C: can take away the internal friction heat of the bearing, good heat dissipation. When the ambient temperature of the bearing is   high, oil lubrication can play a cooling role.

D: easy to remove the wear particles and dust inside the bearing.

E: can be used with gear and other bearing parts around the same lubricant,  achieving common lubrication.
