Audited Supplier Thermal Transfer Overprinting (TTO) technology offers high-resolution printing up to 203dpi or 300dpi by utilizing a printhead that pushes a ribbon into contact with the substrate.
The printhead consists of miniature print elements coated with ceramic, while the thermal printer ribbon is coated with a colored wax and/or resin mixture. When heated elements come into contact with the ribbon, the mixture melts and transfers color to the substrate as it passes under the printhead.
Functional in continuous or intermittent printing modes, thermal transfer printers deliver high-resolution print quality on fast-moving production lines. They can print various messages such as pricing, date and time coding, barcodes, QR codes, logos, ingredients' lists, and marketing messages.
