[Ingredients] The main ingredient of this product is furazolidone, whose chemical name is 3-(5-nitrofurfural amino) -azolidone [2].

Properties This product is yellow tablet or sugar-coated tablet.

It is mainly used for bacterial dysentery, enteritis, cholera caused by sensitive bacteria, and can also be used for typhoid, paratyphoid, Giardia, trichomoniasis, etc. It is used in combination with acid making agent for the treatment of gastro-sinusitis caused by Helicobacter pylori.

[Usage and Dosage] Oral administration. For adults, the usual dose is 0.1g at a time, 3-4 times a day; 5-10mg/kg per day for children according to body weight, divided into 4 times. The course of treatment for intestinal infection was 5 to 7 days and that for Giardia was 7 to 10 days. Pregnant women and lactating women use drugs: it is forbidden for pregnant women and lactating women. Drugs for children: it is forbidden for newborns.

[Adverse reactions] The main symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, drug fever, rash, anal pruritus, asthma, orthostatic hypotension, hypoglycemia, lung infiltration, etc. Occasionally hemolytic anemia, jaundice and multiple neuritis may occur.

1. It is generally not suitable for patients with ulcer disease or bronchial asthma. 2. Hemolytic anemia can be caused by the deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6PD).
