Paraffin oil is a mineral oil, a colorless, odorless mixture obtained from the fractionation of crude oil-.  The main components are hydrocarbons, which can be used in food, medicine and industry.  

Paraffin wax is a mixture of several higher alkanes, mainly n-doxane (C22H46) and n-doxoctane (C28H58), containing about 85% carbon and 14% hydrogen.  There is no single chemical element symbol.
