Paraffin wax is a type of wax obtained from lubricating oil fractions distilled by solvent refining, solvent dewaxing, or wax freezing crystallization, press dewaxing, followed by deoiling and refining to obtain flake or needle shaped crystals. According to the degree of refining, it can be divided into three types: fully refined paraffin, semi refined paraffin, and crude paraffin. Used for producing advanced fatty acids, alcohols, matches, candles, waterproofing agents, ointments, electrical insulation materials, etc.

Grade: Paraffin wax is divided into food grade (food grade and packaging grade, with the former being superior) and industrial grade. Food grade is non-toxic and industrial grade is not edible.

Function & Application

Coarse paraffin --- It has a high oil content and is mainly used in the manufacturing of matches, fiberboard, canvas, etc.

Fully refined paraffin and semi refined paraffin --- mainly used as components and packaging materials of food and some commodities (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper), coating and dressing of baking containers, used for fruit preservation, insulation of electrical components, improvement of aging resistance and flexibility of rubber, etc. It can also be used for oxidation to generate synthetic fatty acids.

Others --- Adding paraffin to cotton yarn can make textiles soft, smooth, and elastic; Paraffin wax can also be used to produce detergents, emulsifiers, dispersants, plasticizers, lubricants, etc.
