Intro
Ecdoine is also called tetrahydromethylpyrimidine carboxylic acid. Ecdoine protects halophiles from harm and has two main functions:

Antioxidant effect
Clinical trials have shown that ectodoine can prevent the weakening trend of the antioxidant capacity of cells with the increase of age, and has a certain antioxidant capacity. Experimental data showed that the combination of 0.1mMEctoine, 0.5mM maltioneine and 1.5mM mannitol could reduce the DNA single strand break of human glia cells at 400-800nm light source, reduce the ROS oxidation reaction intensity, and thus reduce the oxidative damage of light on the skin.

Protection of the immune system
Langerhanscell cells in the epidermis play a key role in the skin's immune system, but they are very sensitive to UV stress. Ectoine prevents the number of Langerhans cells from being reduced by ultraviolet radiation, allowing the skin's immune system to maintain its normal functioning.
