What is PFA Stick PFA, also known as soluble polytetrafluoroethylene, is a copolymer of a small amount of perfluoropropyl perfluorovinyl ether and polytetrafluoroethylene. The melt adhesion is enhanced, the viscosity of the solution is decreased, and the properties of the polytetrafluoroethylene have no change compared with that of polytetrafluoroethylene. The excellent properties of polytetrafluoroethylene are completely maintained and can be directly processed into products by ordinary thermoplastic forming methods. |
What is the nature of PFA? PFA has similar properties to FEP, but because its melt viscosity is lower than PTFE, it can be used at operating temperatures up to +260°C while maintaining meltability. PFA has several unique properties that make it suitable for medical, chemical and electrical applications, among others. PFA has the following characteristics :· Extremely high operating temperature up to +260°C · Extremely low operating temperature up to -200°C · Non-stick characteristics · Low friction surface · Very high resistance to chemicals and solvents · Very high resistance · Biocompatibility |
What are the advantages and disadvantages of PFA? In addition to the unique properties of fluoropolymers, PFA has the following advantages :· Continuous operating temperature of +260°C - in addition to PTFE, PFA has the highest operating temperature of all fluoroplastics · Welding and remolding potential · Protection against harsh environmental conditions · Insulation against electricity, heat, chemicals and solvents · Good permeability resistance · High purity grades can be provided · High clarity PFA has similar physical and chemical properties to PTFE, but it has 10 times the flexural life of PTFE and lower permeability. PFA has excellent cracking and stress resistance and low friction coefficient. The main disadvantage of PFA is that it is more expensive than PTFE or FEP. |
