Steel 3D table is assembled and welded from steel plates and then processed. Compared with castings, they are simple to make. They are assembled with steel plates and can be processed after welding. The manufacturing time is relatively short; and the hardness of 3D fixture table is relatively high. However, it is easy to deform during use, and the welding slag is not easy to clean.

Welding table platform made of cast iron avoids the shortcomings of the steel 3D welding table. The material of cast iron is generally gray iron, and another type is ductile iron. Because the cast iron table is formed in one piece, it is not easily deformed during use and is not prone to welding slag.
1. Good wear resistance and vibration absorption.
Because cast iron graphite is good for lubrication and oil storage, it has good wear resistance. Likewise, gray cast iron has better vibration damping properties than steel due to the presence of graphite.
2. Good process performance.
Since gray cast iron has high carbon content and is close to the eutectic composition, it has a relatively low melting point, good fluidity and small shrinkage, so it is suitable for casting complex structures or thin-walled castings. In addition, since graphite is prone to chip breakage during re-cutting, the machinability of gray cast iron is better than that of steel.
3. Advantages of using resin sand castings.
The resin sand mold has good stiffness and the sand mold strength is high in the initial stage of pouring. This makes it possible to utilize the graphitization expansion during the solidification process of cast iron to effectively eliminate shrinkage cavities and shrinkage porosity defects and achieve less riser and riser-less casting of gray cast iron and ductile iron castings.
