The STS prepaid water meter operates on a principle similar to prepaid mobile phones. It features a smart meter unit that is installed at the consumer's premises and is equipped with a user-friendly interface. Consumers purchase prepaid water credits, usually in the form of tokens or vouchers, which are then entered into the meter using the interface.
