Mica band heaters are widely used for the barrels of plastic injection moulding machines, blow-moulding, extruders, tanks and in a broad range of other industrial applications. The barrel-shaped heater is ideal for heat transfer because it conducts an even distribution of heat throughout the surface it is used on. Mica band heaters can support up to 320°C(608°F). Consisting of stainless steel housing surrounding the mica sheet. Specially selected grade and thickness of mica sheet are used to insulate the internal windings, providing excellent thermal conductivity and dielectric strength.
Mica band heater distributes heat through conduction. Mica band heaters consist of a resistance ribbons made from nickel-chrome wire, heat the SS covering which conduct energy into the barrel by being in contact with the barrel.
Mica band heaters are manufactured in a full range of standard construction options, dimensions, electrical ratings and complete variations of screw terminals and lead terminations.
