The bridging fitting prevents container movement and seals the top joint between the two containers. They held the corner cubes together by turning the center bolts with a wrench. Then, a nut was secured to one of the hooks to keep the fittings from coming loose.
The inside is packed in waterproof plastic bags, the outside in cartons or plywood, and finally packed with a proper packing string.
