Production Description
Tongkat Ali (scientific name: Eurycoma longifolia Jack.) is an evergreen small tree belonging to the genus Eurycoma longifolia Jack. 4-6 meters high, up to 18 meters high, trunk diameter up to 30.5 cm, root light yellow; leaves alternate, odd pinnate compound leaves, about 30-100 cm long, leaflets opposite or nearly opposite, long ovate Or lanceolate; panicle terminal or axillary, light purple in color; drupe about 12 mm long, elliptic, turning from yellow to reddish brown when mature. The flowering period is from June to July, and the fruiting period is from August to September.
Tongkat Ali is mainly distributed in Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam; it likes moist acidic sandy soil, and it mostly grows in beach forests, primary or secondary forests below 700 meters above sea level.
