Dichloromethane, an organic compound with chemical formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid with a pungent smell similar to ether. It is slightly soluble in water, ethanol and ether. It is a nonflammable solvent with low boiling point under normal use conditions. When its vapor becomes high concentration in high-temperature air, it will generate a mixture of gas with weak combustion. It is often used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether, etc.

Applicaiton

Dichloromethane Uses

1.Used as solvent, also in organic synthesis

2.It is a non-flammable low-boiling point solvent, used as a solvent in the production of cellulose acetate film, aerosol and antibiotics, and vitamins, and also used as an extraction agent, metal cleaning agent, etc.

3.Dichloromethane is the raw material for the production of the fungicides Myclobutanil and Imidazole, and it is also a good solvent

4.Extraction solvent. For example, it is used to extract caffeine from coffee beans. And used as extraction solvent for hops, spice oleoresin, etc. Pigment thinner

5.Widely used as cellulose acetate film forming, cellulose triacetate spinning, petroleum dewaxing, solvent in the production of aerosol and antibiotics, vitamins, steroids, and metal surface paint cleaning, degreasing and film removal agent
