Manual Application

Application:

The instrument is used for measuring the viscosity of liquid petroleum asphalt, coal tar, emulsified asphalt and other materials flowing state. Viscosity of the pitch is the outflow orifice of the time required for 50 ml bituminous material at a predetermined temperature since the predetermined unit in seconds. The instrument complies with: standard JTG E20-2011 highway asphalt and asphalt testing procedures.

3.Instrument composition

The instrument consists of a constant temperature circulating water, electronic digital timer, Sheng-like tube, containing sample tube orifice, ball plugs, orifice check rods, accept bottles components.

4.Instrument operation

1, Add water to circulating sink add, turn on the power.
2, Turn on water switch heating, make sure the water became warm.
3, Adjust the meter to the desired temperature and the required test temperature, the conventional tests is 60 ° C, which has been set at the factory.
4. Prepare the asphalt samples by testing procedures. Based on the type and consistency of asphalt materials, select the desired aperture orifice tube containing the sample put it onto the round sink. Block the orifice with the provisions of the ball, orifice decentralization evaporating dish to prepare to accept the sample accidentally discharged. Only the 10mm orifice use the ball with 12.7mm ball plug, and the rest are used orifice diameter of 6.35 ball plug.

5.Test procedure

(1), When the sample is heated to a temperature higher than the test 2-3 ºC (such as test temperature below room temperature, the sample to be cooled to a temperature lower than the test 2-3 ºC) , put it into the tube, the number depend on the level When the ball reaches the vertical rod piston rod mark prevail.

(2), The test specimens were maintained in a water temperature for at least 30min, measuring the temperature for the sample as the ± 0.1 ºC temperature test, then adjust the sample surface to the mark of ball plunger rod, while continuing to maintain l-3min.

(3), Remove the evaporating dish, put a bottle or cylinder, make sure its center being convection holes. This bottle or cylinder can be pre-implantation soapy water or mineral oil 20ml, to facilitate cleaning and accurate readings.

(4). Lift the ball plug, marked by hanging on the edge of the sample tube,when the sample flow into the bottle or cylinder accept up to 25ml, (graduated cylinder 50ml), then press the timer until the specimen outflow 75ml (graduated measuring cylinder 100ml), press the stop timer.

(5), Remember the time for flowing out 50ml sample, as S, which is the viscosity of the sample.

,Report: At least one sample parallel test twice, when the difference between two measurements are not more than 4% of the average value, whichever is the average value of the integer as the test results.

(7), The precision and allows the error: poor repeatability test allows for a 4% average.
