Tempered glass(toughened glass, heat strengthened glass, safety glass) are made by forming compressive stress on the surface of the glass and heating the glass up to its intenerating temperature and then make the glass uniform cooling quickly. During the process of cooling, the exterior part of the glass is solidified because of the rapid cooling, while the interior part of the glass shrinks because of slow cooling, then forming compressive stress on the surface of the glass and tensile stress inside the glass, thus improving the intensity and heat stability of the glass.
Safety performance: Glass will appearance hurtless obtuse angles when breakage.
Strength performance: Four times more than ordinary glass.
Heat stability performance: Three times more than ordinary glass, could bear the temperature change about 200° C
Tempered glass has a very good performance of anti-cirve, anti-hitting, 3 to 6 times better than normal glass. It can afford pressure over 95MPa on the surface. It has high stability even under temperature changing from 200 to 300 Celsius while normal glass can only afford change of 70-100 Celsius. It becomes small sand shape if is broken under big force, which guarantee safety and less loss.
Laminated glass(Sandwich glass, interlayer)is processed with special technology under high temperature and high pressure by adding one or more layers of Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) with tough and strong binding between or among two or more glass layers. For the great binding performance, laminated glass could stop external force attack and the chips will be bind with PVB after breakage to avoid making harm to person. And even the glass could still resist attack from wind and rain in breakage status.
Laminated glass advantages:
Sound reduction, the special laminated construction could reduce sound spread effectively, then that function make laminated glass has great performance in sound control, PVB also could filter and absorb ultraviolet (UV) rays 99.5% at least, so laminated glass could reduce the cost of electronic power and save energy, the effects will be better if you adopt special PVB interlayer.
In order to guarantee the quality of laminating glass, PVB film could be imported from Du Pont of USA or Sekisui of Japan. The colors of the film include transparent, milk, blue, dark grey, light green, bronze, etc. Laminated glass can be further processed into tempered laminated glass, glass with holes, into insulating glass etc.
