for Infrared 99.99%/99.999%/99.9999% CAS1360-25-8 Cadmium Cdte Telluride Power 4n/5n/6nChemical formula CdTe, molecular weight 240.00, has certain hepatorenal toxicity. Melting point: 1041ºC, higher temperature: decomposition, relative density: 6.2015. Insoluble in water and acids, but soluble in nitric acid. It is easily oxidized by air when wet. Method: by mixed elemental melting, tellurium, cadmium in hydrogen flow sublimation, or cadmium tellurite or tellurite heating reduction in hydrogen flow, or by acetic acid and acetic acid acidification cadmium telluride sodium solution, when deposited from solution is maroon, almost black, after drying can also be used on cadmium telluride hydrogen vapors, formation of cadmium telluride single crystal. Using high purity telluride and cadmium as raw materials, cadmium telluride is synthesized after deoxidation and then grown into single or polycrystalline by vertical directional crystallization or vertical zone fusion.

Applications
1. Cadmium telluride solar cells, compared with monocrystalline silicon solar cells, have the advantages of easy manufacture, low cost and light weight. CdTe thin film solar cell, called CdTe cell, is a thin film solar cell based on the heterogeneous combination of P-type CdTe and N-type CdS. The standard cadmium telluride thin film solar cell consists of five layers: the back electrode, the back contact layer, the CdTe absorption layer, the CdTe window layer and the TCO layer.
 
2. Cadmium telluride thin-film solar cells are much cheaper to produce than crystalline silicon and other solar cell technologies, and they are consistent with the solar spectrum, absorbing more than 95 percent of sunlight. On the basis of extensive and in-depth application research, CdTe batteries in many countries in the world have moved from laboratory research stage to large-scale industrial production.
 
3. In addition, CdTe semiconductors can be used for spectral analysis, infrared electro-optical modulators, infrared detectors, infrared lenses and Windows, phosphors, room temperature gamma ray detectors, luminescent devices near visible regions, etc.
