Taurine is an amino acid converted from sulfur-containing amino acids, also known as taurine, bovine cholic acid, bovine choline, and bovine biline. Taurine is widely distributed in various tissues and organs in the body, and mainly exists in the interstitial fluid and intracellular fluid in a free state, and was first found in bull bile to get its name, but it has long been considered a non-functional metabolite of sulfur-containing amino acids. Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid in animals, but it is not a component of protein. Taurine is widely distributed in the brain, heart, liver, kidney, ovaries, uterus, skeletal muscle, blood, saliva and milk of humans and animals in the form of free amino acids, with the highest concentration in pineal gland, retina, pituitary, adrenal gland and other tissues.
